What is an educational master plan?
As the most long-range and comprehensive of American River College’s planning processes, this plan assesses the current state of the institution, projects its likely future, and proposes how it should develop in order to serve its mission effectively. It sets the long-range vision for the institution and will serve as a navigational tool to ensure all other plans are headed in the same general direction.
When and how will it be developed?
A project team is leading the effort to collect input and build the plan during Fall 2019. Our tentative schedule:
Project Charter Adopted: March 4, 2019
Project Kickoff: May 22, 2019
Collegewide Input: August 2019
Team-based Work: September-October 2019
Collegewide Feedback on Draft: November 2019
Governance Review: November 2019 – Early February 2020
Plan Finalized and Posted: February 2020
As of January 2020, the draft Educational Master Plan has been recommended by both the Academic Senate and the Student Success Council. It is now in the final stages of review and is being considered by the Executive Leadership Team.
