Basic Video Editing with Premiere Pro

Many classes at ARC are offered online these days, and faculty members may want to create videos for these classes. This hands-on training will demonstrate some basic steps for editing a video and preparing it for YouTube, or a similar video-hosting website. The training will use Adobe Premiere Pro, a professional-grade video-editing program which is free to all faculty members.

In this training I will show you how to:

• Combine several video clips into a sequence
• Remove unwanted sections from a video
• Make your video clearer by adjusting the exposure and light levels
• Make your video color more natural by setting the white balance
• Make your sound loud and clear by adjusting your audio gain
• Have the software create captions automatically
• Edit the captions manually to ensure accuracy
• Export your video and captions in a format that is ready to be published online

This is a hands-on training, so you can bring your own videos to work on.

No prior video editing experience is necessary.

Attendance at this professional development activity is limited to LRCCD employees and invited participants.
