ARC's Guided Pathways Work and History
April 28, 2023
In 2015 American River College began the process to review and update the strategic plan. The college spent the next year holding collegewide events and engaging with our community to identify areas where we saw gaps and opportunities for change. This lead to the creation of three project teams in 2017:
- Clarify Program Paths Project Team
- Start Right Project Team
- IPaSS Project Team
Representatives from across the college helped ensure we had a variety of roles, voices and experiences on the teams. In Spring of 2018, the project teams released their final reports with a number of recommendations that, through additional committee work and collaboration from across the college, were refined into what we now call the HomeBases. While work continued through the COVID-19 pandemic, the virtual and physical presence of the HomeBases for students was not rolled out until our return in the Spring of 2022.
In the Spring 2023 Semester the work continued to align the institutional structure with the intended direction of American River College as recommended by the college project teams established through the governance process.
